Partner.

Strengthen.

Empower.

With over 20 million Americans living with substance use disorder, we’re on a mission to help as many people as we can. The Phoenix is building a vibrant community of people in recovery with support, hope, and resilience. You can be an invaluable part of making that happen as a Phoenix partner.

Ways to Partner

Host and Volunteer Coach(es)

Host one-time or recurring special events and/or classes. Classes can be separate from your gym’s regular schedule or combined with an existing one, as long as the community standards are upheld.

Host Only

Donate your space for an event(s) or class(es) and we’ll connect you with a volunteer coach in your area, once identified. You do not have to have a coach who can volunteer.

How you can support the movement

  • Lead event and/or class logistics, including cadence, day, time, and scheduling
  • Encourage member and network participation
  • Identify a champion to support the partnership and class participation

How we’ll support you

  • Provide a Phoenix Welcome Kit that includes the Community Standards, a Phoenix Banner, and a digital marketing toolkit
  • Volunteer Onboarding to train how to run and schedule safe and supportive classes that uphold our mission and vision — it’s self-paced and takes about 2 hours to complete
  • Unlimited access to our Volunteer Resource Library, which includes tips on determining the right event, scheduling, and how to promote

Questions?

Do I have to host Phoenix classes as a separate class?

You are welcome to host Phoenix classes as a separate class or incorporate them into an existing one. We just ask that the Community Standards are upheld at all Phoenix classes to ensure a safe and supportive space.

What commitment and support can I expect as Host only?

Donate your space for an event(s) or class(es) and we’ll connect you with a volunteer coach in your area, once identified. You do not have to have a coach who can volunteer.

What commitment and support can I expect as a Host + Volunteer?

You know your space and community best, so we ask that you take the lead on initiating, organizing, and staffing at least one event and/or class a year. We’ll make sure you have the resources to determine the right event, scheduling, and how to promote.

Does my gym need to go through the training even if we have experienced coaches?

Only coaches who will lead classes need to go through the training, which is focused specifically on how to lead safe and inclusive Phoenix events, and provide tools to help you build classes and community.

Do I need to be in recovery to be a CrossFit affiliate?

No. Phoenix affiliates can be peers who have lived experiences through their own recovery journey OR a personal connection to the mission—an ally in the sober community.

What training & support can I expect from The Phoenix?

The Phoenix will equip you with an understanding of The Phoenix’s mission, how to lead safe and inclusive events, and provide tools to help you build classes and community. You will have dedicated staff to guide you every step of the way in your onboarding journey. Once onboarded, you will receive continued support from a Phoenix staff member who is available for any challenges or creative ideas that you might have. We also pay for your CPR or First Aid certification. Interested? Let us know!
